Curriculum – Grades K-8
St. Rose of Lima School follows the curriculum of the Archdiocese of Miami. This allows students to seek to foster the growth of the whole child: spiritual, intellectual, physical and social. The goal is to lead the students to become responsible members of the Church and of society.

Students in Kindergarten through Grade 8 receive instruction in the following core subjects:


  • Religion
  • Language Arts (including literature, grammar & composition, phonics)
  • Spelling and/or Vocabulary
  • Math
  • Science
  • Social Studies
  • Handwriting (K-5)


In addition, students (depending on grade level) receive instruction in the following enrichment specials during the week:


  • Spanish
  • Physical Education
  • Music
  • Computers
  • Library
  • Art
  • Standardized Testing


Students in 2nd through 8th grade take the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) in the spring.
